Sodhana Charitable Trust is a voluntary organization working in a small town called Chipurupalli in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. It is headed by the able leadership of Dr.PDK Rao, who has been working with the poorest of the poor for the last 36 years. Sodhana has been working on various issues like land rights for poor, housing , waste land development, primary education, pre-school education, self help groups etc. Our pr-school model has been replicated by the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Sodhana was selected as the state resource center to execute this project.
Founder of Sodhana
Dr.P.D.K.Rao, after his return from U.S., settled down in Cheepurupalli a totally unknown place to him in February 1979. He tried his best to understand the problems of the poor and to enable them to resolve their issues.
His earlier education in Hyderabad and later went to U.S. to obtain P.hd. in nuclear physics from Rutgers university, New Brunswick, N.J. He also taught Physics to under graduates while he was in U.S.
